Last Post Pre-Baby

This will likely be my last blog post before our little girl makes her grand entrance into the world and into our lives.

It is the weekend before my estimated due date...although at my doctor appointment this past week I was told if I went past my due date they would give me a week before they would choose to induce labor.  So most likely we will meet Baby Girl Frye on or before June 19th.  I am hoping she decides to grace us with her presence before then but it really is up to her at this point.  The hardest part is not knowing right now.

She seems like she is getting antsy in there and/or running out of room because her movements, rolls and kicks are starting to hurt...today she kicked me in the ribs a couple times and it startled me quite a bit!  But I am glad she is so active. She can kick me in the ribs, kidney, spleen...whatever she wants, I'm sure she is just trying to get in a comfortable position.

Last night I went with my friend Lisa to get a manicure and pedicure after work.  It was so relaxing and of course I got pink on my fingers and toes for our little girl...

39 week mani and pedi--PINK of course

At 39 1/2 weeks I'm still going strong!  Although last weekend I did spent most of Sunday in the Emergency Room...but not for myself.  Aaron ended up getting (what we just found out to be) salmonella!  He was so sick and dehydrated so we went to the ER because his temp was 103 degrees and he was absolutely miserable and could not keep anything down..  He was sick most of last week and finally went to the doctor and got some tests done.  Yesterday they called him with the results and determined it was salmonella.  He is feeling better now (thank goodness!!) and on antibiotics to make sure it is out of his system.  I'm so grateful I did not get sick....to be safe we did sleep in separate rooms for a few nights and were hand washing and sanitizing everything like crazy.

Hospital bags packed and ready to go...baby bag, my bag and one with snacks for daddy if he gets hungry at the hospital!
Our hospital bags have been packed for weeks now, although being a typical Virgo I keep thinking I need to go through everything again to make sure I have everything I could possibly need.  Us Virgo's like to be prepared :) Today Aaron and I made ONE more trip to Babies R Us to get a cool mist humidifier...basically the only item left on my registry I wanted to have prior to baby.  Since Aaron is scheduled to work next weekend (he works every other typically), this could be our last weekend before the baby comes that, as Will Smith would say, is "Just the Two of Us".

As we were hanging around the house today I decided to dress up Aaron's childhood Care Bear in one of our Baby Girl's outfits and make sure I knew how to strap the "baby" into the stroller.  Then proceeded to take the "baby" for a walk around on house in the stroller.  Hey...doesn't hurt to try it out.  ..although Aaron said I was weird ;-) Maybe this is a sign this baby needs to hurry up and come...

Final thoughts...

I feel like we have been extremely blessed throughout the last 9 months.  Besides the first 3 months being difficult with sickness for me, I am so very grateful to have had a healthy pregnancy with no complications.  We have been blessed with love and support from our friends, family and co-workers. I can't wait to introduce our little girl to everyone.  It's amazing how much love you and others can feel for something before you even "meet them".  It really is a miracle that this life has been growing inside of me and now it is almost time to see, after all this time, what Aaron and I have created.  I already know she is going to be perfect in our eyes.  And I already know we will love her unconditionally and will do anything for her. I know it will not always been easy, but I also know that I have a wonderful husband and a wonderful support system in my life, and no matter what challenges may come our way...we will get through it together....as a family.

See you soon Baby Girl Frye!
